Ever wonder what greens are best to use for your green smoothies? Look no farther. I'll provide you with a detail list and what each provides. Thanks to livelovefruit.com for the visual picture.

Red Leaf Lettuce-  provides an excellent source of Vitamins A and C, with a mild taste, it is one of the inexpensive greens to use for your smoothies.

Kale- "helps cut the sweetness of the fruit and delivers more than twice the recommended daily value of calcium than spinach." via http://www.incrediblesmoothies.com
It is high in vitamin C, A, and packed with iron. Since it has a very strong flavor, I recommend you using  strongly flavored fruit. To balance the taste.

Dandelion Greens- A bitter taste, if I were you I'd use sweet fruit (ex bananas) to mask the bitterness. But behind the bitter tasete, this precious green leaf is great for detoxing your liver and kidneys, packed with vitamins A, C, E, and K. You can't go wrong when you're trying to achieve weight loss, detox, energy, mood, immunity, etc. (to name a few.)

Swiss Chard-delicate flavor and softer leaves with a salty flavor. It is rich in vitamins K, A, and C.
Its the naturally healthy way to add sodium to use diets.

Spinach- popular and great tasting. It provides you with an incredible source of iron while adding vitamins C, A, and B6 to your smoothie.

Romaine- for a natural tasting green smoothie, this leaf is the way to go. It contains vitamins A and C, packing with a punch of calcium.

Arugula- a strong bitter or almost peppery taste, I would mix it with something sweet and strongly flavored to balance it out. Its an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and B wih calcium added to the mix.

Bok Choy- aka "Chinese cabbage" a bitter Asian green that is high in vitamins A, C, and K packed with iron. Its bitter in flavor, somewhat like spinach, only stronger. Although its easily masked with any fruit you add.

Do you use any other greens besides the ones I named? Let us know. And tell us the benefits for using it.
